We're on our way!

February 23, 10:30 a.m. central time

We left our home at 4:30 a.m. and are now at Chicago's O'Hare Airport. Ana has been a real trooper, full of energy and wide-eyed as she made her way through the neon-lighted terminal at O'Hare. She even thought the airport bathrooms had "cool sinks." What a blessing she is. Ana called my parents from the airport and told them "we don't have Abby yet." Hope she keeps up the good spirit on our next leg of the trip...14 hours to Beijing. We were blessed that a sweet woman from United let us spend four-hour layover in the Red Carpet lounge at the airport. We've got lots of reading material, games, movies and coloring books to keep us busy. And, hopefully, a few hours of sleep along the way. Will write again when we're in Beijing.

  5. That's awesome about the red carpet lounge. It's always nice when you hear good things about airline personnel!
