Today's travels took us to the Great Wall, Olympic Village. and a jade and a cloisonne enamelware factory. As expected, the Great Wall was awesome. Steve actually treked up the wall a good ways, while Ana and I rooted for him from down below. The Bird Cage, also known as the 2008 Olympic Stadium, was awesome as well. Inside, you could actually feel the excitement from the Beijing games. The architecture of the facility was amazing. But in the midst of all the tourist attractions, it was a 7 year old's birthday celebration that brought us all back to the reason we're in China...the children. One of the little boys on the trip with us celebrated his birthday today. No matter where in the world you are, birthday cake and blowing out the candles is a highlight. See Ana and her "new friends" celebrating. Less than 48 hours left till we get Abby Lin.
I love seeing all the photos at each stop you make. I bet seeing the silk made was an awesome sight ... not to mention the experience of riding in a rickshaw. And I hear the Great Wall is a sight to behold nevermind the trek up there. Can't wait to read about the day you pick up your new little one, and we start seeing pictures of Abby Lin too.
